We are coming off a 3 night stay at the Legoland Pirate Island Hotel and we had the BEST time! My son was sad to leave and we never really got bored even with the Florida rain.
The Details are Incredible
Everywhere you look there are Legos! We googled and about 50 million of them make up Legoland but that might not even include the ones in the hotel or new themed lands.
Parrots squawk, Lego pirates snore, there is fun and theming everywhere! The theming continues into the restaurants, outdoor activities, and even the elevators and hallways.
The Rooms are Friendly to all Ages
I wish I could've stayed here when my son was even younger! A pull down toddler toilet seat in the bathroom and a lower door hole for kids to peep through were my favorite details. But the whole room felt like a shipwreck on a deserted island (in all the best ways).
The bunk beds with a pull out trundle helps the room to easily sleep 5. The adult room was the perfect place to relax, we even had a pool view!
Other fun details of the room were separate televisions for the two rooms, a mini fridge, a Keurig stocked with coffee, tea and hot chocolate, and lots of Legos.
There are in-room Legos for everyone to build with AND they brought my son a new mini kit each day! The first day kids can complete a scavenger hunt to find the combination to open the treasure chest of goodies including juice, a Lego pirate book, pirate patches, and a mini figure. He had so much fun figuring it out.
Our first morning there was even a Lego newspaper written to and for the kids!
The Food was Delicious and even Endless
Breakfast at Bricks Family Restaurant and Shipwreck Restaurant are included but different. Also they require reservations, which I highly recommend making on opentable.com ahead of time.
Bricks is a buffet style restaurant which right now was being served to us, kids first. Breakfast offerings here were eggs, bacon, sausage, veggie sausage, pancackes, french toast, oatmeal, biscuits, gravy, fresh fruit, tater tots, breakfast potatoes, and yogurt. They had plenty of drinks too including 'to go' cups, including the famous POG (pineapple orange guava) juice.
Shipwreck Restaurant is always a family style restaurant. For breakfast, they serve you a skillet of eggs, biscuits, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. They also have coffee, juice, milk, and soft drinks available.
Dinner at the Shipwreck Restaurant was our favorite. It was a yummy salad followed by the choice of one of two skillets. We opted for the Seadog Skillet the first night (yes we ate there twice). Our favorites off this skillet were the shrimp and the pork tenderloin.
The second night we ate with friends so got to try the Pirate Platter and the Vegan Platter.
My favorite off the Pirate Platter was the brisket and ribs.
The Vegan Platter seemed to go over well... my friend said it tasted just like meatloaf!
All of these skillets are "all you can eat." We had refills on the shrimp both nights! Side included rice, mac and cheese, and green beans. If the kids don't like these foods there are hot dogs, chicken tenders, and fries available but my child loved the food!
To end the meal came a delicious skillet chocolate chip cookie dessert. It was sooo good!
The meal was $28 for adults and $13 for children. They do accept Legoland annual pass discounts as well. Supposedly you can also book this restaurant without staying at hotel which is something to think about after a long park day!
There are SO Many Activities
So I was worried about the afternoon Thunderstorms.... but the hotel had me covered. Did we willingly spend time in the awesome rooms? Yes. My son loved the pools the most but he loves the water in general. The floating Legos are lots of fun. The Legoland Hotel pool is open 11-9 and the Pirate Island Hotel pool was open 4-9. My son thought it was so cool to go swimming at night.
Another fun feature were the pool towel vending machines... you just need your room key.
The pools were a nice feature with the hot Florida summer days.
My son also loves to golf so he was ecstatic when he saw the 9 hole mini golf course. This course was pretty basic but had fun Lego animals around. Supposedly it is included if you book a Lego Movie room but it is $8 per person if not (children 2 and under are free).
There were activities all day long. We liked the Master Builder classes where you learned to build something you could take home! These classes fill up fast so make sure you sign up as soon as you can (maybe even early in the week if you're at the park or have a friend there).
The kids' crew pirates were lots of fun too! My personal favorite was the bedtime story because it was quite humorous.
This mama also appreciated how close the hotel is to the park entrance. A 2 minutes walk if you walk slow. It was nice to go back and forth with the unpredictable Florida summer weather. Annual Passes are SO reasonable too.
So there's a little bit about the fun we had at the Pirate Island Hotel. Feel free to ask if you have any questions or check out our Instagram for the room tour and more details.
