One Swashbuckling Dinner Experience

About a week ago we had the opportunity to be guests the Governor's Gala, only to be taken over by pirates... but they may have been the most fun pirates I've ever been around! The Pirate Dinner Adventure is dinner and a show, one that both my son (8) and I both really enjoyed.

Upon entering, they take some fun group pictures and explain the layout of the place including the gift shop, bar, and restrooms. Then you get to enter the main event area and find out your pirate colors... we were team yellow!

There are six total colors... they tell you colors early in case you want to purchase accessories to cheer your pirate on! Before or early into the show someone will also come around to offer you the opportunity to purchase pictures or a package including pirate gear with the pictures.

The stage itself is very impressive and built with an active water feature around the ship!

Of course, since this is a dinner adventure... food is included. The first course is a Cesear Salad. Main course is your choice of pork, roasted chicken, or a vegetarian pesto pasta with vegetables. We all had the pasta and really enjoyed it! Dessert is a delicious brownie with sprinkles. Not a 5 star dinner necessarily but definitely tasty. There are also numerous food upgrades available including steak, seafood and birthday cake.

I really enjoyed the show. Lots of action, competition, humor, athleticism, love, and audience participation. That's right you may even be on stage at some point!

Two parts of the audience participation were my favorite. The scene above is where all the kids can go on stage and recite the pirate code (and dance with one of the silly characters). The other part that was very unique was when one child from each section helped row a boat in one of the competitions! There are other times where you sing along from your seats as well.

The aerialists were very impressive (they are also a pirate and mermaid in the show).

And, of course, there is a princess and a love story. Overall a wonderful show!

Overall we had a great time and would return. I have done this once with my adult friends and once with a family friends and their children. Both were very different but equally fun experiences. If your child is into pirates this is a must do! I also highly recommend dressing for the event... don't be afraid to sport your pirate gear.

Thank you Pirate Dinner Adventure for the wonderful experience!
